How does one extract sulphuric acid from an old car battery?

Draw it out from the top vent holes with a large pipette, but note only a fully charged battery has strong acid, a dead one is mostly water...BE CAREFUL ! I purloined a large gl roasting pan and dumped the acid out then decanted it into a bottle with a funnel after the trash settled.
