I saw this movie in my cooking cl called food inc it is about factory farming and how they slaughter cows, chickens, and pigs. This is just so messed up how they treat animals. They feed chickens and cows and pigs this cheap corn which has this special chemical in the food which is bad for their body and develops a disease in their body and they feed us it still! They slaughter the chickens by drowning them upside down. cows i heard they're unconscious and they skin them alive and cut them deep in the throat. for pigs they crush them on concrete wall and if there is some alive the workers smash their head with a hammer. The cows have crap all over each other and how do the workers get the crap off they don't they just give us the food like that and chickens don't even see sun like anymore their just in this dark house thing and they eat until their fat and they can't even stand on their feet anymore. There was this little boy 2 years old ate a hamburger and died 2 weeks later of E.coli may him rest in peace. and for crops they spray some chemical on the crops so it grows faster and that chemical is bad for the human body system. What is wrong with tyson and other companys why do we treat animals so badly because of this i haven't really eaten anything. My Xbox 360 just RROD on me after trying to load a damaged game, will it happen again?

So I just turned on my xbox this morning, slapped what I thought was a game in working order in it (Forse Unleashed the original) And tried to start the game. After a heart wrenching ten seconds the box completely quit on me and gave the RROD. It has custom fabs (Baught it on ebay from a repair guy that sells them like hotcakes) It keeps incredibly cool even after three+ hours of game play, I did have it freeze randomly last night once durring FFXIII but I restarted it after waiting a few minutes and it worked fine. I think the custom fans keep the heat down quite a bit at the expense of sound polution. So did I get yet ANOTHER bunk xbox from this guy? Will it stop working randomly just like the last one? (Last one was a Zephyr instead of a Falcon,. it ran quite a bit warmer then this one does and it eventually got the RROD and e74 error 0022) So now I'm kind of pissed and a little more then worried that the console will die on me and I'll have to send it to someone else to get it repaired for how ever much that will cost me. Oh right, and it has one of those Refurbrished microsoft stickers under where the harddrive sits but no official microsoft seal sticker so do you think microsoft would still cover this problem? Should I keep homeschooling my daughter or send her to public school next year?

Ok, here's the situation... I have a 9 yr daughter and I've been homeschooling her since grade 2. She's the only child and I'm a single mom. I decided to homeschool her because of the lack of values in the school system. In addition, she is very bright and she couldn't really "advance". Anyway, since about a month ago, she developed a phobia after having had the flu back in November (she threw up 30 times). Now, she won't go to her lessons (choir, dance, etc.) and doesn't want to face her friends. When she does, she's fine but it's the anticipation that kills her. Also, because of this, she has temper tantrums almost every day when she can't have what she wants. I'm going crazy because this is very hard on me. We barely go out anymore and I'm starting to have cabin fever. We're going to see a psychologist but that's only in March. Now, I'm wondering if she's be better off in school because she used to be such a social erfly before this incident. Any advice, suggestions or hints?

I never learned about anything but Christmas. But a lot of people celebrate the "santa" part of Christmas, either because they don't believe in Jesus or just for personal reasons. I think that's why they teach only that side of it in school. I don't know why they would go into detail about the other religions and not Christianity's role in Christmas. If it upsets you that you son likes another one better, you can teach him about the meaning of Christmas. Ask him what he likes about the others better, and honestly inform him about each one. Also, I would speak to the teacher or Principle about his teacher and your concerns.

My sister and I just had a big fight. My sister had these really nice pink pumas and I kind of stole them at the beginning of the school year. They were filthy, so I cleaned them really well and changed the laces and took really good care of them. I have been married for nearly 6 years now. I am very unhappy! I believe in my heart that my husband has a drinking problem. He lies to me and his mother, sisters, etc about his drinking. I know when he has been drinking because his behavior changes dramatically, yet he denies it. I guess he thinks that he is putting one over on me or something? Naturally he gets very defensive when I try to talk calmly to him about it, it's just impossible! There have been MANY occasions over the years where he has left our home alone to go out and "cool off" and has been gone all night drinking! He has gotten arrested for public intox once before. I can't even tell you how many times he has come home from one of his drinking binges only to argue with me and than p out in bed until noon or one the next day. When he wakes up he either doesn't remember anything, or refuses to talk about it! His mothers, sisters etc......are getting fed up also and are starting to see exactly what I have been dealing with for nearly 7 years now. Fortunately we do not have any children and in all honesty, I refuse to have kids with someone who drinks! That is NOT the way I would want my kids to have to grow up. I am starting to feel like by constantly accepting his apologies, that I have basically let him think that his drinking is acceptable. I KNOW I don't make him drink, but he sure does try to blame me sometimes. There have been a couple of incidents where he has really lost his temper and either hit a door or wall or gotten a little physical with me (twice in 7 years). He curses and yells at me when he is drunk and now he is even starting to do it to me in front of my in-laws! I really don't want to be married to him anymore. I have to get my financial ducks in a row before I can leave. This is not meant to sound shallow, but I put my whole life with him as an Army wife first, and neglected to establish a career or get an education for myself. BIG mistake!!! I really need some solid advice here. This is not an easy situation! Should I stick it out and encourage him to go to AA or get out now? This is really a sad thing, because I know my marriage is on the brink of ending.

If you're buying it from a store and you're a first time buyer then the warranty should cover you for a year so you wouldn't have to pay if it breaks. generally you should be fine, PS3's dont really break very often. Ive got a 60GB since Feb 07 and there has been no problems. Im pretty sure Sony can still repair it though if you're scared of losing files back them up on a memory key or an external harddrive.

so i'm an 18 year old female with a healthy bmi, and a pretty healthy life style, but my body has some issues..i can't drink alcohol (even like half a beer) without getting a horrible stomach ache/diarrhea/puking. I used to be able to drink but this recently started happening. Also, my stomach in general is just weaker than usual, and i burp way more than the average person but i never used to be like that. I also get hot flashes randomly, and i'm too young for menopause. The last thing that is wrong with me is that i'm a grandma and seriously can't stay up late. Ear congestion? Help immediately-?

So I just got over an ear infection and I was prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days, 3 times a day. Did all of the doses. Got better. A few days later I got sinusitis and felt horrible. I got better, but I was congested. So then that was over and then I went back to the doctors because I was having cold symptoms which was just allergies. Took a few days to get over then I felt better. Just 2 days ago, I could feel something different about my hearing. While I am sick I know not to suck in all the mucus through my nose because that will go straight to your ears. So this whole time being sick I had to breath through my mouth which was annoying. I don't see how I could have ear congestion if I didn't breath through my nose. Please help, I can barely hear out of it. There is no pain or discomfort just it is REALLY muffled and I can hear myself talking AND my heartbeat which is really weird.

I was in your same place last year, and I went with the base model laptop my school offered, 2.0 ghz, 2 gb RAM, and it works great for everything I need to do school-wise. Now, I got a Dell and not a Macbook, but specs are similar so I can tell you that you honestly will not NEED anything faster or with more RAM. But I myself was not/am not a gamer, but I have found myself with a group of friends that like to game occasionally so I will join in, and often wish I had those slight upgrades. I think you should go for the RAM upgrade just because that will be more useful to you in the future when bigger better applications come out, also if you end up doing anything like video editing for projects it will help you out. The faster processor isn't really necessary though so I'd say don't worry about that.

Rats - Lice Prevention?

My rat Squishy unfortunately has lice. He was purchased from a local Petco store two weeks ago. Along with his lice infestation, he also came with a mycorplasma infection (a serious upper respitory infection that can scar the lungs of rats, and if left untreated can be fatal). The mycroplasma is under control with the use of antibiotics, but my question is regarding the lice. I gave him his first dose of ivermectin (orally) yesterday afternoon, and soon after the lice have already begun to die. I've taken extra precautions and have froze everything (with the exception of his water bottle, and of course him) for 48 hours to kill off any lice that may have hitched a ride. My question is, after he is done with his treatment over the next three weeks, how would I go about preventing an invfestation again? I am taking into account the fact that he was neglected at Petco (along w/ his littermates), and had a very low immunesystem which allowed these little buggers to thrive on him..(cont)

My boyfriend is just like you, it can be frustrating arguing with him for a few reasons. His thoughts are very well organized and quick to draw upon, so his stat quoted arguments are hard to combat. However, I still feel as though I am correct but I just have problems expressing it so quickly and my answers are not based on real references, simply experience, so its hard to make him realize what I am saying is valid. As a result he never changes his opinion and admits I'm right, that is very frustrating, there are anomalies and having a references doesn't prove everything. I think that it is wrong. No body likes to be told that what they believe in is wrong, especially when it comes to religion. There are many things that in any religion don't add up. Part of that is probably because most of them are stories that are exaggerated. I have a friend who is really into here religion. She always crisis's Catholics for their belief's so i point out how their way of thinking might not be so far off. It got her thinking but she still didn't change her mind. I'm not Catholic or anything, but i like to look at the world from every ones perspective. As the other replies stated, she is a Diamond Dove... probably a female if the store clerk is correct in stating that it does not make much noise. The males make a distinctive cooing call and have a tail fan dance they perform for mating. You don't usually see many of them in pet stores, but you might be able to find a mate or friend for your new bird at a feed store or a bird show. One thing to know about doves is that they do not crack seed like hookbills... they swallow the seed whole, so grit is needed. I supply my diamond doves with a little bowl of small grit and a cuttlebone. I feed them finch/parakeet feed. The dove feed is for the standard size dove and is too large for the small diamond dove. I occionally offer my doves fresh chopped fruits and veggies, but they don't eat too much of them... just occionally they will pick at the peas and chopped greens. Help, I'm so puzzled about this horse...?

A little info about me - I am 17, I've been riding my entire life, showing horses competitively for 6 years, and training horses for about 4 years. I've got a mare and a gelding half brother and sister that I have owned since they were 3, trained them, and now we earn ribbons on a regular basis. Now I just recently got another horse that I plan...or had planned - on doing the same with. He's a 17hh super stocky '05 paint horse gelding that I have known since he was a foal. I always loved him while he was out on his owners pasture(I rode his owners horses). This past summer we bought him. He was supposedly broke by the owners son in law who's a local jockey but honestly I don't consider throwing a saddle on him and running him down a field much training at all which is exactly what he did. Well now I've owned him and been riding him for about 4 months at my place. Our bond feels completely torn. I've dealt with plenty of horses and never have I found one this...dare I say stupid? He bites constantly no matter how much and how many different ways I try punishment and reward. He also cribs and paws but that's not the biggest concern. He becomes very violent when you try to lunge him in a round pen or on a line. He will charge at you and then kick out straight at you. Even if you get out of the round pen he will do it to the metal panels. I've been kicked in the face(and spent many days in and out of the hospital) so I cannot tolerate this what so ever. Now if you set him loose in the arena to run around he won't do anything. He's lazy as can be. You ride him when another horse is in the arena, he won't do anything either. You can kick, whip, spur, whatever he won't do anything. He isn't overly desensitized to spurs and whips and I don't want him to be, he reacts perfectly fine when I have to use them when it's just us. Now when we ride alone some days we have alright rides, other days we end the ride sweaty and in tears. We can't get anywhere. You teach him something, he's got it down, then quickly forgets it no matter how consistent you are. Oh and when you go out of the arena he feels like he must bolt off out of excitement and start bucking, I try taking him down the trails at a walk all the time and he still gets overwhelmed. This horse didn't even buck when he was first saddle let alone while being rode. Sometimes when he bolts off he doesn't even have an aim he will run straight into the bushes and trees. He spooks at the most random things that he's been desensitized to and has seen before i.e. a riding helmet and rider! Then to finish the ride off he likes to pull the entire box of grooming supplies out and throw it across the driveway if I'm not super careful. He will also chew his lead rope till it's in pieces and he's untied as well as his trailer tie. The darn horse needs a pacifier. I'm just so fed up with him. I love this horse but I hate him just as much! Help? Should I restart him, we need some major re-bonding as I don't even feel like he's the same horse out of that pasture at his old barn(he was never even worked with back there though). I can't stand not being able to look at him the way I do all the other horses I own and train. I get done with them and almost always do we feel content with what's been taught and where we stand. Please any advice? And if you are going to tell me I should sell him please at least make me feel like I'd be making the right decision. I couldn't stand him ending up in the wrong hands.

There is no other game that frustrates me so much. Okay so, there are a couple shine I need to get that's in the main village. There is this one that is to the left when you start as Mario, there is a door that can be broken by using one of the nozzles that i have. When I break it, the shine is there but it's blue, not gold. when I grab it, it does not add to my total of shines and it reappears there. I know there are people who dont want to work, i know i have many friends like that, but why work when you can get 52 a week for doing nothing, a house for having and a baby, and benefits for begging for help. Even if i took a job on for 150 a week, what can i do with that? They have put so much tax on alcohol it costs 1/50th of my wage for a pint (�3). Whats the point in working, if your working to pay rent, struggling to pay bills, and being depressed for being able to do nothing else but the previous two with your wage. It saddens me to think this is what it has come to what is the future predictions for britain. I mean lets go back 100 years (past) - greatest country the world had seen in terms of development, then now (present) �150 billion in debt and still wasting money on freeloaders, and the future lets go forward 100 years. 5 month old with thick mucus?

My son has very thick mucus. He has seen many doctors and they all say keep doing what I'm doing. I am starting to become upset because what Im doing isnt helping. He sounds really congested. I have tried the Humidifier(cool-mist), nose suction, saline drops, and hot steam shower. When I do get one or two lil boogers there are white and so sticky and thick, I cant imagine it all coming up without real help.I can hear it in his chest sometimes.....please advice?

Whose side are you on when it comes to the collective bargaining agreement? The owners or the players? I heard the players ociation has made an offers to the owners, for a 50/50 revenue split but the owners have turned that down. For all that I've heard it seems the owners are getting extremely greedy and won't be happy unless they get everything they want instead of compromising. Football is the most popular sport in the U.S., so does anyone think if an agreement doesn't happen soon the popularity of the NFL might take a hit. Why won't my laptop work?

My Laptop Doesn't always boot up when i turn it on. Today i had to turn off and on again about 40 times before it finally loaded up. When i press the power on everything starts working, (internally) but the screen doesn't come on, Other times the screen will come on but it will freeze on the 1st load up screen :( it's an ADVENT 9517. 3-4 years old. I have a er spaniel that is almost a year old, and ever since my parents bought him for the family, he's had to live outside (that was the only way my mom would give in to a dog). He has a corner fenced in the garage with a doggy door leading to the backyard and he has his food, water, and bed in there (since we live in texas and it gets really hot in the summer he also has a water bowl outside that is changed daily). As a puppy, everyone spent time with him and he was allowed to "visit" with us. But as he got older, everyone lost interest in him and I became the only one caring for him and training him (sort of like a single mom, if you wish). My brother wanted the dog very badly but stopped coming outside to play with him and doesn't even care for him. He won't come on walks with Chris and I, and his idea of quality time with him is to go outside and talk in a squeaky voice, pet him, and then leave for his friend's house. Since we got him for Christmas, I spent my whole Christmas vacation playing outside with him, and making sure he was okay. When I started school again I would do my homework outside on the patio (regardless of the weather, although my parents would yell at me sometimes to come inside). He is no longer allowed inside at all, because he chases our cats and my parents say that he will start running in the house every time the back door is opened if we let him in. He also isn't potty trained because he doesn't live indoors (although he knows not to pee or poop on the patio). He was such a good dog, and then all of a sudden he became a problem. I'm not sure exactly when it began, but I do think that the causes are that he doesn't get enough human attention, and I'm sure you all will agree with me when you hear his behaviors. He has begun chewing (although he's never had this problem before), and he actually began while we were away on vacation for three weeks (the neighbors were watching him). He chewed up our doormat and so we got another one. He chewed that and is still chewing on it occasionally. The other day he chewed the fabric off of our little trampoline, which he's never tried before. In my opinion, he's bored and lonely. He's seperated from his family. Some other things that he does: he jumps on the patio furniture and table (he only jumps on the table when he wants to see inside the house. It's the saddest thing ever, he sits on the table and just stares at you through the window, it makes me want to cry), he jumps on people when they first come, he pees sometimes out of excitement, he does not listen all the time, he does not come or stay all the time. I realize some of these are my fault and I trained him very wrong, but this was my first time and in all fairness I had very little guidance from my dad (who has had dogs) or help at all. I wish he could at least come inside when we're home, just to sit there while I'm doing homework or watching tv or something, but my parents won't allow it and it makes me so sad that he's alone for such a huge part of the day and I love him so much but no one wants to help, and my parents were going to hit him with a stick everytime he did something bad, and now since it's not working they want to use a shock collar and I am so upset and I don't know what to do. also, he runs out the gate sometimes when it's open and I'm so scared that he is going to get run over because he doesn't come back, even if i call him and dont chase after him. also, he has cherry eye and my parents dont want to spend the money on the surgery, and now they won't even get more drops for his eyes so they're not so goopy. they don't see him as part of the family, they see him as just a dog that doesn't need as much attention when something has gone wrong or he has a problem, and they expect me to solve it by myself, but I can't, and I don't know how and I don't know what to do. I want to spend time with him but I've started high school now and I don't know how I'm going to balance caring for him and getting all my work done. Also, I don't want to get rid of him, this is my first dog and I want to make things work. Besides it would be traumatizing to him. I just don't know what to do and I wish he could come inside, it's not fair to him to watch his family on the other side and want to be with them, but they won't let him. It's not fair.
